Why is it important to hire an ASA certified appraiser?

By avoiding the real or perceived conflicts that accompany professional service offerings such as audit, brokerage, and investment banking, we eliminate real and/or perceived conflicts-of-interest. That ensures the independence that is essential in today’s business environment. Our independence allows us to provide services to a wide range of clients without those clients worrying about conflicts of interest or other independence issues. This is a significant issue, especially today, as many transactions and relationships are undergoing significant public, government, and industry scrutiny.

Knowledge and Experience

Our professionals are held to the highest professional and ethical standards due to their memberships in various professional associations such as the American Society of Appraisers. Also our projects are completed in conformance with the Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice (“USPAP”) published by the Appraisal Standards Board and the Principles of Appraisal Practice and Code of Ethics of the American Society of Appraisers.

Our Practice

Experience

Each accredited member of the American Society of Appraisers has earned a professional designation in one or more specialized areas of appraisal. To receive the accreditation, the appraiser must pass intensive written examinations, submit representative appraisal reports for peer review and be screened for his or her ethical behavior. In addition, each accredited member must pass ASA's Ethics Examination and an examination on the Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice (USPAP) within a specified period of time. (The Uniform Standards are published each year by The Appraisal Foundation, authorized by Congress as the source of appraisal standards and appraiser qualifications.) To qualify for the Accredited Senior Appraiser designation (ASA), an individual must have a minimum of 5 years of full-time equivalent appraisal experience and a college degree or its equivalent.
